Look closely at a lot of custom championship rings sold to rec leagues and fantasy commissioners and you'll find plated base metal and glass. They look great in the unboxing video. Then the plating on the side panels can wear through. The alternative is real metal: 925 sterling silver, gold vermeil or 10K to 18K gold, with certified lab-grown diamonds, drawn from your own mark.

I run my own fine-jewelry brands as well as Grandior. Whether it's a commish or a club treasurer, the first questions are the same. Is there a minimum? No, one ring is fine. Can every ring carry a different name and size? Yes, each is made on its own. Who owns the design? You do, once the CAD is paid. A detailed ring starts at $250 for CAD.

Who orders custom championship rings?

Anyone who won something and wants proof that outlasts the group chat. Amateur and semi-pro clubs, adult rec and beer leagues, esports rosters, golf societies, and school booster clubs using marks the school has signed off on.

Companies order custom championship rings too. A sales team that blows through its annual number gets a "championship" ring with the company mark and the year. Fantasy league commissioners order one for the champ, either a single ring passed down each season or a new one every year, sometimes paid for out of league dues.

What they share: a handful of rings, each one personal, and a design that has to look like it could only belong to them.

What goes where on a championship ring?

A championship ring has four zones: the top (or face), two side panels, the inside of the band and the stones. Each carries different information. For the general names of ring parts, see our guide to the parts of a ring.

  • Top or face. The team mark, often raised, with a center stone or a cluster around it. "Champions" and the year usually run around the edge.
  • Side panels. The shoulders of the shank, flattened to carry detail. One side usually holds the player's name and number. The other gets the year, the trophy or the venue.
  • Inside of the band. The final score, the season record, a motto or the date. The private stuff.
  • Stones. A lab-grown diamond center, pavé around the mark, or colored stones in team colors.

Why real metal instead of plated?

Real metal keeps its color and its value. Plating is a thin skin over base metal, and on a chunky ring the edges of the side panels are exactly where it goes first.

Sterling silver is solid 925 silver all the way through. Gold vermeil is a thick gold layer over sterling silver; our guide to gold vermeil vs gold filled vs plated explains the difference. Solid 10K to 18K gold is the top shelf.

Every diamond is a certified lab-grown diamond, graded by IGI or GIA, and described as lab-grown. In the US, the FTC Jewelry Guides set how metals and lab-grown stones must be described. Rings are cast, set, polished and finished in partner workshops in India, and each one is checked against your approved sample before it ships.

Championship rings are big and heavy, so metal is the biggest line on the quote. That's why mixed rosters are common: solid gold for the captain or the MVP, vermeil or silver for everyone else, all from the same CAD.

How do you design custom championship rings from your own mark?

Send your mark, your text and a rough idea of the layout, and we draw the ring in CAD. A ring with a raised mark, detailed side panels and plenty of stones is a complex design, from $250. Simpler designs start at $55. The CAD is yours once paid.

You approve renders of the top, both sides and the inside before any metal is poured. Then order a sample to check quality of the metal and finish, or approve one finished ring before the rest of the roster goes into production. See custom jewelry manufacturing for how CAD and production work.

How do you size a whole roster?

Get one confirmed size for every person before you order. Nobody can guess a ring size, and a big ring with detailed side panels is much harder to resize than a plain band.

  1. Send each person a ring sizer or a sizing kit. Paper strips are less reliable for wide bands, and a wide ring fits tighter than a thin one in the same size.
  2. Measure at the end of the day. Fingers swell in the evening and in warm weather.
  3. Check the knuckle. The ring has to get over it.
  4. Put every size in one list with name, number, metal and engraving, and have someone else proofread the spelling. Nobody wants "Champoins" on a gold ring.

Many designs can be resized, but side panels and stones limit how far. Getting it right the first time is cheaper than a remake.

How does a fantasy football championship ring work?

Most leagues pick one of two formats. A perpetual ring is a single ring passed to each season's champion, with room for every winner's name and year inside the band or on a side panel. An annual ring is a new ring for each champ, cut from the same CAD with the name and year changed.

The fantasy football championship ring is an off-season job. Many leagues crown a champion in late December or early January and draft again in August. Order after the title game for an annual ring, or before the draft if you want it on the table on draft night.

Plan a perpetual ring for at least 10 seasons of names, more if it's a keeper or dynasty league that plans to be around for a while. Use your league's own name and logo, not a pro league's or team's marks.

Does ordering change for 1 ring or 50?

No. One approved design, then one ring per person. There is no minimum.

  • One ring. A single champion, a retiring coach, or the league's perpetual ring.
  • A roster. Each ring sized and engraved for its player, then shipped to each player or in bulk to one address for a ring night.
  • Packaging. Your box, card and certificate. The recipient never sees Grandior. For a full branded line, see private label jewelry.

Every order is dispatched within 7 days of confirmation, tracked and insured to 20+ countries. Custom and engraved work can take longer, and timelines are confirmed per order. Delivery varies by country and prevailing conditions, so work back from the banquet date and order early.

Questions founders ask

How much do custom championship rings cost?

The price depends on the metal, the weight of the ring and the stones, so each design is quoted on its own. A detailed championship ring CAD starts at $250. Silver and vermeil cost far less than solid gold for a large roster.

Can you make a fantasy football championship ring?

Yes. Use your league's own name and logo, not a pro league's or team's marks. Most leagues choose either one perpetual ring passed to each year's winner or a new ring for each champion from the same design.

What metal are custom championship rings made of?

Many low-cost championship rings are plated alloy. Fine-jewelry versions are 925 sterling silver, gold vermeil, or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold, set with certified lab-grown diamonds or gemstones.

Can I put my team logo on a championship ring?

Yes, if your team owns the logo or you have a license to use it. College, pro and many school marks need a license or written permission from the owner.

How do I get ring sizes for a whole team?

Send each player a ring sizer or have them measure with a sizing kit, and collect every size in one list before you order. Ask them to measure at the end of the day, when fingers are larger.

How long do custom championship rings take?

CAD and your approval come first, then production. Every order is dispatched within 7 days of confirmation, and custom timelines are confirmed per order. Order well before your presentation date.
